Phylogenetic tree construction procedure

• For each organism, the longest known Calpastatin sequence was selected.
• From each sequence, all known inhibitor functional domain (Calpain_inhib) were extracted.
• Sequence alignment was then done using Muscle and the resulting phylogenetic tree plotted using the ape package for R.
